Your Pain Is Unique. Your Massage Should Be Too.
No two bodies carry pain the same way. The ache that settles into your shoulders after a long week, the headache that builds behind your eyes, the stiffness that lingers after surgery: each has its own story, and your body deserves to have that story heard.

That’s why your massage should never be a copy of the session before or after yours. Every session I offer is shaped around what you are feeling on the day you come in, to provide a personalized massage that is just right for you.
It all begins with a complimentary phone consultation. We’ll talk through what you’re experiencing: where it hurts, how long it’s been there, what makes it better or worse, and anything else that matters for your session. As we talk, I’m listening for the approach that will serve you best. The right massage depends entirely on what you share with me, so I gently encourage you to be open and honest about everything you’re feeling. No detail is too small. It all helps me care for you well.
Headaches
Headaches can come from many places: stress, muscle tension, posture, poor sleep, and more. When one takes hold, it can pull you out of your whole day. The good news is that massage can be a meaningful part of relief. According to the American Massage Therapy Association, trigger point and deep tissue massage may help reduce headache symptoms.
In my practice, I often use myofascial release and spinal reflex therapy for tension and stress headaches, gently releasing the tightness in the neck, shoulders and scalp that so often feeds them. Between sessions, you can offer yourself some care, too: apply gentle pressure near the area that aches and massage in slow, small circles.
Back Pain
Your back carries you through every moment of the day: lifting, sitting, driving, bending, holding. It’s no wonder back pain is one of the most common concerns I hear. Many people assume deep tissue massage is the answer, but that isn’t always the case.
Through my experience as a program advisory member and faculty member of the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage, I’ve found that myofascial release or spinal reflex therapy is often more beneficial than deep tissue work for back pain. For deeper relaxation, a Swedish massage can also help, especially when paired with warm Himalayan stones or a warm bamboo fusion massage, which invite tight muscles to soften and let go.
Shoulder Pain
So many of us carry the weight of our days in our shoulders: long hours at a desk, a heavy bag, stress we haven’t had the space to set down. Shoulder pain can have many causes, and massage can bring relief in the moment while improving comfort and flexibility over time. Making shoulder work a regular part of your self-care is one of the kindest investments you can make in how you move and feel. A personalized massage can make a world of difference for shoulder pain.
Post-Operative Pain
Healing after surgery is a journey, and depending on your procedure, massage may become a valuable part of your recovery plan. Your safety always comes first: post-operative massage should begin only after your doctor and physical therapist have approved it.
Once you’re cleared, I use MPS (Microcurrent Point Stimulation) therapy to help break up scar tissue at the surgical site and improve range of motion in the joints around your incisions. Scar tissue can restrict movement and contribute to swelling, so addressing it thoughtfully can make a real difference in how you heal. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), on its own or combined with MPS therapy, is also very beneficial after surgery.
Pregnancy
I offer specialized massage for women who are pregnant, trying to conceive, or have recently delivered a baby. Your body is doing extraordinary work in this season of life, and pregnancy massage can ease much of the discomfort that comes with it. This is when our pre-session conversation matters most, so please share openly how you’re feeling so I can tailor your session safely and address exactly what you need.
Oncology
Hearing the word “cancer” can turn your world upside down. Drawing on my years of hospital-based oncology work, I offer specialized oncology massage for clients navigating cancer. These sessions use gentle, careful touch designed to calm your nervous system, ease tension, and help you reconnect with your body as a place of comfort again.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which type of massage is right for me?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. That’s exactly what our complimentary phone consultation is for. Simply tell me what you’re feeling, where, and for how long, along with any medical history, surgeries or pregnancy. I’ll use that information to recommend a personalized massage approach that best fits your body and your goals, and I’ll continue to adjust during your session based on how your body responds.
How is medical massage different from a regular spa massage?

A spa massage is designed mainly for general relaxation. A medical personalized massage is focused on your specific symptoms and goals, such as headaches, back or shoulder pain, post-surgical recovery, or pregnancy discomfort. It uses targeted, clinically grounded techniques like myofascial release, spinal reflex therapy, MPS therapy, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. You’ll still leave feeling deeply relaxed, but the session is built around helping your body heal and function better.
